Narrative therapy is a form of counselling that views people as separate from their problems and destructive behaviors. This allows clients to get some distance from the difficulty they face; this helps them to see how it might actually be helping or protecting them, more than it is hurting them. With this perspective, individuals feel more empowered to make changes in their thought patterns and behavior and “rewrite” their life story for a future that reflects who they really are, what they are capable of, and what their purpose is, separate from their problems.

Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is a practical, short-term form of psychotherapy. It helps people to develop skills and strategies for becoming and staying healthy.
CBT focuses on the here-and-now—on the problems that come up in day-to-day life. CBT helps people to examine how they make sense of what is happening around them and how these perceptions affect the way they feel.

Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) is a strength-based approach to psychotherapy that focuses on solution-building rather than problem-solving. Unlike other forms of psychotherapy that analyze present problems and past causes, SFBT concentrates on current circumstances and future hopes.

DBT combines standard cognitive-behavioral techniques for emotional regulation and reality testing with concepts of distress tolerance, acceptance, and mindful awareness.
Within DBT, it is the capacity to pay attention, nonjudgmentally, to the present moment; about living in the moment, experiencing one's emotions and senses fully, yet with perspective.

In systems therapy, family relationships, patterns, communication, and behaviors are examined , allowing the therapist to observe how certain behaviors could be impacting the family. Once these behaviors are recognized and understood, members can learn new behaviors that have benefits for themselves and the rest of their family.

The Medicine Wheel is a powerful symbol and teaching tool used by many Indigenous cultures across North America. It is a sacred representation of the interconnectedness of all things – the earth, the universe, the human experience, and the spiritual realm. More than just a symbol, the Medicine Wheel is a way of life, a guide for personal growth, and a framework for understanding the world around us.
